Women in the informal economy comprise over 90% of the total female workforce in India and are amongst the most vulnerable in society. In Punjab, SEWA works to empower the marginalized women workers and secure for them the twin goals of full employment and self-reliance. Change is facilitated by organizing them into a strong collective, making them aware of their rights and entitlements as workers and carrying out community development with a focus on sustainable impact.
